any difference between 351C and 351M/400 heads???
if so, what are they??
if not, then i can convert my extra 400 heads to put on a 302 and make a pseudo-boss 302, right???
Yep, only this swap is not that popular anymore because aftermarket small block heads are getting cheaper and can out perform the cleveland swap. I checked on the special intake manifold and pistons required and it does get expensive to put the cleveland heads on.
A Clevedore? I'm trying to convince one of my friends (who has a 289) that he should put a spare set of 2V closed chamber heads I have lying around onto his engine. But, as you pointed out, the custom manifolds can become expensive. For example, a company here does one for about AUS$750, which I suppose is about US$350 or so. Then you have to worry about pushrod length etc. I suppose...
thought you just need boss 302 manifolds......how would the swap compare with building my 289, as far as cost for the gain??...it is bone stock, and i was just looking at options, since i have a good set of 400 heads lying around....
not gonna go radical, figured the 400 heads may pep it up a little more than W heads....
You might want to take a look at this site, [link:www.themustangshop.com/clevor.cfm|Clevor], before you make any decisions. I don't know if a Boss manifold will work for your application and they are few & far between in my experience.

There are 4V heads, both open chamber and quench chamber, as well as 2V heads, both open chamber and quench chamber - in a number of different chamber CC ratings. The 351C 2V open chamber heads are exactly what is used on all 351M/400 engines.
