what is the best setup for a 2000 7.3 , I am looking to get the best fuel economy out of it. I already have a superchip in it ,that way when I bought it, but no tuner..... so I will need assistance on how to remove it also. I also have the 4" ss exhaust
sometimes I tow a trailer but not all the time, thanks for your help, Roc
Most guys on here are running the 6637 filter for their intake which is fairly inexpensive. As for the Tuner, DP-Tuner is the way to go there. The filter can be bought at most NAPA's, however, fleetfilter seems to have the best deal. The DP, it all depends on the number of tunes. Good luck and Welcome to FTE.
Well the best intake you can get for these trucks is a 6637 from fleetfilters.com simple mod, just search up 6637 on the search bar.
When you get your superchips removed the best thing you can get for these trucks is a custom chip. The most popular around here is DP-tuner.com and Tony Wildman tuners. I am not to sure how to remove the superchips without the programmer.
Is the super chips an actual chip or the tuner kind, if it is an actual chip should be on top of the computer, which is somewhere in these trucks. Make sure you disconnect all the electrical systems before removing the computer. If it is the tuner kind which it more than like likely is you can go to the dealer and have it reprogrammed otherwise Jody at DP Tuner should be able to reprogram the computer. Intake as others have said 6637 is the best and cheapest. Make sure before you put a tuner in there you get guages, PYRO, Tranny and boost. If you tow a heavy trailer you may also want to do a BTS valve body to save the transmission, and TC.
