Transmission ?
Does anyone know what sensor is used for a reference signal to the PCM that controls the shift points of the transmission? I have a 99 with 98K that I bought about 4K ago and it is intermittedly going from overdrive to passing gear then to overdrive repeatedly. Not throwing any codes so I don't know where to begin.

I do not have any service records on this truck unfortunatley. The fluid is at the proper level, and does not smell burnt. I was considering a filter service but with 98K and not knowing the history of service I don't want to cause any problems by doing a tranny service. The problem is intermitent, often I can not get it to replicate, then there are times that it does it but goes away during the trip. It does it with a steady foot on the throttle as well as with cruise control on.
