Glow Plug Light Stop Working
I have a 1986 Ford F250 6.9 diesel and 4-5 times over a 2 week time period I had to use ether to get it started in the morning. I usually plug it up at night but the temperatures dropped alot further than what I expected. Now my glow plug light doesn't come on anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

possible that if you used ether and the glow plugs were hot, you've burned them up. this might (i'm not sure) kill the circuit return that lets the WTS light come on. i'm not that up on electrical, but that's what i'm supposing. if you've got a test light, clip one lead to positive terminal of battery unplug each glow plug one at a time (connector) and touch other lead to where connector was. if it doesn't light up the tester nice and bright, glow plug is bad. not sure if this is problem, just the best idea i've got right now.

i had the same truck, my guess is your first problem was a bad glowplug relay :the selunoid looking thing mounted flat behind the passenger side battery.i used to carry an extra for when the glowplug light would'nt come on,about once every 1-2 yrs.this was usually my problem. the either isn't a good idea.so now i would check all glow plugs lie speedrdr said then check the relay.if all that is good.i would guess the controller is bad.good luck

My glow plug light is burned out. Test by prying off both trim frames behind wiper and headlight ***** and on right side of steering column, one of those frames is held also with a screw under the column. Headlight and wiper ***** come off by pulling on tab behind **** at notch position with a 90 degree dental pick or similar. A test light on glow plug light wires will show if juice is getting there. Juice gets there on mine but bulb no light up.
