I have a 86 5.0 efi runs good then takes a dump on and runs good a gain right now. after startup it will stay at high idle and while going down the road it feels as though the motor has killed until i get below 35 mph or put it in neutral it runs fine. I have a new ditrbutor and module. in park i can rev it all day. what could it be.
Gas line dryer triple dose or so don't do anything else just dump it in on whatever is in
the tank3/4 1/2 1/4 run it until 1/8 tank then refill with fresh fuel and some marvel
mystery oil and another bottle of iso heet. Unless that is too easy for ya.
Does the truck have dual tanks? If so there are actually 2 fuel filters on the truck. The usual one that is easy to find and see. The other is by the valve that swaps what tank you are using under the truck. It is on the drivers side on the frame rail. The filter is about $4. We chased a similar problem for weeks because we were unaware of this filter. Good luck, hope it is something simple.

Me too! I kept changing the easy to find fuel filter and it would clog back up again within a day. I actually changed the fuel tank, and still didn't fix it, until I finally found the stupid other fuel filter!
