Hi, my throttle pedal is squeaking like an old barn door and when you are on and off the throttle slightly it is a real nuisance. Still under warranty so taking in to have replaced. This being an electronic pedal will the dealer just unplug and bolt in a new one or will they have to do some kind of reflash or programming of any kind. Little leary of having them do any reprogramming as the truck runs, starts and idles perfectly. This truck is an '06 with 25,000 miles on it (40,000 km's). I had my '03 in for reflashes and each time they mucked with it it got worse and worse.
Sister in laws old early 2004 Excursion with the 6.0L Power Stroke had the accelerator pedal come of the metal rod. I found the pivot pin hole slightly out of round and the pin would no longer stay in its proper position. The rod the pin goes through had stake marks to displace the metal and hold the pivot pin stationary.
Anyway, I purchased a new accelerator pedal / sensor assembly and installed it for her. Started up the truck and it ran okay. No relearn needed.
So yes, the dealer will just unbolt the old unit and reinstall the new one.
