Power window making noise...

when rolling up if you don't let ur finger off the button the motor keeps running a few seconds and you hear a pop pop pop sound like its still trying to roll up the window for a second...same when you roll down if you dont watch the window to see that its all the way down and let off you get that noise like somethings not shutting the motor off in time...what can this be, the motor is only a few months old?

a pop pop pop... All I can think of is that the gears are skipping over each other from improper mesh.

well i would think that too but until you get it to the bottom or the top it doesnt make any noise at all ...runs fine...then if u dont watch when ur rolling it up and the window goes up as far as its supposed to if youdont let off then you hear it...samefor the rolling down part...

I am not too sure on the newer windows but on my '67 T-bird, the windows had nylon gears. When you hit a stop, the gear would ride up on it's spring and pop. This was a basic clutck setup. I replaced both gears (one on each side) as they were almost gone. The springs were fine. Point is, your gears may be doing the same thing. I am sure others with more experience in this area will chime in and let me know if I am in the ballpark or out in left field. Good luck.
