All of you guys who want more aftermarket parts for the Ms go to projectbronco.com and click on...well I cant remember, but its right on the main page. It will take you to a link were you can email edelbrock and voice your concern. Write an email like I did and just dont make it a one sentence thing give them a piece of your mind. If we can get together on this we can make a difference. C'MON guys!!!!!!
I have sent email to Edelbrock several times about aftermarket parts for 351M/400 engines. I have been told that the market was too small. If we all send mail through any means, maybe they will start to notice us.
It is encouraging however that some manufacturers have taken notice of the 351C-4V market. I think that if someone could make heads for Panteras, they certainly could make them for Broncos and F150s.
I think you can praise Ford, and blame them at the same time for the 351m/400 engine builders plight. Ford designed a built those engines for a very narrow an specific purpose, powering large heavy vehicles at low rpms with high torque output. So that's where they are found in the majority of cases, large heavy 4x4 bronco's and trucks. Everything you guys are complaining about not having, seems to me to be race stuff. Sure it can be done, but the average joe who puts this high rpm stuff on his 4x4 without other changes such as gearing, etc. is going to be disappointed when he bolts something on his engine. Edelbrock, among others has sense enough to know this, and doesn't want unhappy customers. They do make some upgrades in the intake manifold area, but these don't ruin the original purpose as stated above. Now there are guys who swap these engines into different applications such as danlee above, where the original design is not as suitable for a lighter weight vehicle. But if you read this board any, the guys who do require more power and rpm from this engine, seem to get it done and have good success. Yes, they have to do some involved parts matching and modification, but they have good results. But the number of these guys is small, compared to the numbers of these engines still doing there original intended duty everyday. But by all means, keep trying. I know my opinion means nothing in the grand scheme of things, but I just put it in here as maybe one practical explanation as to why some of these manufacturers give you a hard time sometimes.
