I have a 93 F 350 4 x 4, crew cab, long box 7.3 diesel, when going down the road sometimes I will hit a bump and the whole truck suddenly feels like it is shaking apart. I have replace the ball joints, tie rod ends, king pins and this helped but on accasion it still does it. Any ideas what to try????
I had his problem on my 2wd F350 and installing an aftermarket steering stabilizer helped. My problem turned out to be a loose steering box. If your truck has a stabilizer, I would check it first.
I've heard everything from shocks, tires, and toe setting on the F350 death wobble.
A place called WC Motorsport claims to have come up with "the cure" but it only addresses 05 and up Super Duty. They re-designed the track bar mounts.
It is also common to blame the track bar bushings on the older trucks like ours. Best I can tell you is check ALL your bushings, including leafsprings and shackle assys, track bar bushings, shocks, steering box adjustment, and tires.
Could also be something as simple as loose lug nuts. I had a tire do this to me on my old Dodge. Turned out that the belts were seperating. Let us know what you find. Good luck
