Living in Arizona we don't have daylight saving. The clocks stay the same year around.
You lucky dog! Indiana was like that until last year when our governor rammed this DST crap down our throats. It's not popular here and I'm not buying the so-called reasons for it that are generally given by those responsible.

I usd to live in El Centro, CA (93-96), and we watched a Yuma TV station. During DST, through some wierd time magic we saw prime time shows at 6pm. It just seemed strange.
they should just leave it the same all year. dst, normal time, whatever they want to call it, leave it like it is in the summer. i could care less if it is daylight out early in the morning when i go to work or school, but it is nice to have the daylight after work and/or school.
i have never read an actual real reason for the switching. i read the history, people's opinions, but really, why?
I like the time staying the same. I grew up & lived most of my life in Nevada I disliked DST. What is strange is 45 miles west of us is Laughlin Nevada & Needles California. They change time and we don't. So those that live in Bullhead City have to remember DST because many work over the border. What is strange is one side of the river is hour ahead in the winter then the same during DST. I lived in Bullhead City & I really was confused.
Well, the reason for DST is to save energy- the need for turning on the lights inside the house is much later. I remember when the pres mandated the earlier/ later time changes a couple years ago and that was the reason he gave. If we kept DST all year, kids would have to go to school in the dark during the shortest days... it wouldn't get light outside until around 0830. I think there may be some other reasons, as well.
If we didn't change here we'd either not have light until 8am in the winter or it would start getting light at 4 am in the summer. 4 is too early, plus it would get dark too early for summer, and we need sunshine before 8 in the winter.

I envy you, kermmydog!!
Not all of Indiana. Those of us from around the Cincinnati area and Louisville area have always switched out clocks with those cities.
