Question Speedometer

The speedometer cable in my 1950 F-1 was disconnected years ago by my father. I want to hook it back up. The cable is fine and neatly tied up but disconnected. I think one end of the cable srews into the back of the speedometer under the dash. I believe the other end of the cable srews into the transmission somewhere but I do not know where. Can anyone help???

Look for a Hole in the Side of the Trans that has a Small Bolt holding a Tab.
That Bolt & Tab is what holds the cable succurely in place to the Trans.

Thanks for the info Col Flashman. Maybe now I see how fast I am going. I do not think I am breaking any speed record though.
