I have read with interest the spark plug stories. Do I change them out now at 15,000, 2007 5.4 F-150? What is the recommended plug, or should I say best and what is the true fix to this issue? Was hoping to do all my own basic maintenance on this truck, now I wonder.
There are so many opinions on this topic, that it's hard to sift through. Some say pull them every 10 miles and clean them while others say follow the maintenance schedule. The dealers should be well versed in removing them now, so I'd try to pull them, and if they don't want to come out, retighten and drive to the dealer. My 08 plugs are different than my 02 plugs and seem to come right out so I guess they DID redesign the heads.

Check and see what the build date is on yuour truck ford did a rolling change on 10/7/07 u may have the new heads and new plugs????
Personally, I think the problem is overrated. I just had mine changed at 65,500 miles. No trouble. My dealer has changed 10 sets and had only one plug break and they retrieved the sleeve on it. The one that broke was on an oil field truck that had 95,000 and idles a lot. Use a detergent gas, from a tier one retailer, and follow the TSB.
