I'm moving ahead 'cause times limited... I drilled the carb throttle hole bigger, tapped it to a 10-32, way big since original was, I think, a 4-32. I'll try a nut-bolt combo of smaller size, try to align it in place, mark it, then tighten. Should work, but like to secure it using JB Weld afterwards just in case? Will the JB Weld stand up or deteriorate and throw pieces around?

Crawlfish, JB Weld is good stuff. But in this instance, I would use a small center punch or chisel, and peen the end of the bolt so the nut could not back off.

Thank you for your response! I didn't think of peening the ends, and I was concerned about dropping pieces into the intake. Definetely will do this today. For "balance" and because another was stripped, I've replaced all the screws with stainless steel, and added the washer and nut so the weight on the butterfly is same across...

Hope this doesn't change flow characteristics. I checked lengths and original had room on opposite side to thread onto...?
