too much compression???
on a 94 5.8, what is the stock compression ratio, and what is the stock combustion chamber cc? i am thinking of going to 60cc heads, will that be too much to run on stock bottom end? thanks for any help

I dont think ur bottom end is relevent, 60cc chambers may make ur compression too high, I have a 94 5.8 (stroked to a 408ci.), and I have 64cc heads(edelbrock performer RPM heads)and I run 91 octane gas, cant run any thing lower, so u need to think about that!

cylinder head chamber volume isn't the only factor in figuring out compression ratio. The same heads will make a higher compression ratio on a stroker than on a standard stroke engine because the cylinder volume at BDC is greater on the stroker while the TDC volume is probably close to the same as on the standard stroke.
The best thing to do would be to find out what the chamber volume is with the current heads and relate it to the current compression ratio, then use the new chamber volume to back out a new compression ratio.
