Front Diff. Capacity

I changed my front diff lube on my 02 4X4 F-250 last night and went to put in the two quarts that the manual say,, but it did not fill it up. I even put in a half quart from a left over bottle and that did not even fill it up. I have always filled the the diffs on all of my trucks untill they start to over flow. Should I not do this on a SD? Or is the owners manual wrong?

The front differential takes 2.7 liters, which is about 2.85 quarts.

Just did mine last weekend.. it took just under 3 !! I fill mine until you can just feel it with your finger below the drain hole...
