Where can I get the seal that goes between the "plate" and body of a rotor type oil pump? my pump is good but that leaks like a sive. I dont want to rebuild just install a seal. does felpro or victor make a gasket? my ford dealer lauged and said no one stocks them annymore, help!
I made a gasket for my chevy engine i rebuilt I couldnt find a oil pump to main cap gasket for it so i made one. Bought felpro gasket material and used a ballpeen hammer and tapped around the edges with the gasket material sitting atop and cut out a custom gasket for it. Real easy to do.
Perhaps my memory fails me but isn't the seal between the gear cover and pump body a O ring type deal. There was then a gasket between the plate and the block. kotzy
My gasket kit probably has the o ring in it, and I dont need it. Can mail it to you. Take a close look at the bottom plate and see if there are any casting flaws. Several years ago a new rotor pump caused me quite a few headaches with bad leaking and multiple attempts to seal it. Found that the lower plate was defective.
I might add if it is the gear type pump it has no O ring except fot the tube, the pump body to block and cover are both gaskets. Had to look in old manual. kotzy
