Newbie Model Variation Questions
I'm looking to buy an older used truck. In looking in my local paper, I'm seeing quite a few model designations that I'm not familiar with. Here are some examples:
I've got two '89 F-150s for the same $. One is a Lariat and the other is an XLT. I also see XLs listed. What do these identifiers signify in terms of body style, features, etc.?
I'm looking for a general purpose pickup like an F-150 or (dare I say it) Chevy 1500 series, and I don't want a "beast".
Can somebody please shed some light on things?
Thanks!
Base is XL (some of the older models are "custom")
Mid is XLT
Top of the line is LARIAT. (for all those LAZY Soccer moms who can't do without pushbutton anything, leather seats and a "Bit** in the box" telling you a door is ajar, your fuel consumption is altogether too high, and your tire pressure is low....among other things.)
Larry
I like all of the options.
My wife is not allowed to drive it.
I like all of the push buttons.
The tires are not low.
It does not use any more gas then the other models.
It's nice for picking up Bi#*@s.
Never found one in the truck as of yet.. well.. you know..
