quick question

i had a question about a 400 i just got it runs really good and makes a ton of power, i guy i bought the truck from said the motor was just rebuilt but was unsure of what went in it, he said he spent over $3000 to have it done, i'm trying to find out if the guy is just telling me its been rebuilt of if it really was, its still got the 2bbl and 2bbl manifold. egr is still hooked up and its got single exhaust. i guess my question is a stock 400 able to rev up to 5500 pretty easy cuz mine will? this is my first 335 engine, i try to stay with 300/6 or the 460 so i'm not really sure how it should to run

I would want to know what "rebuilt" actually means. Ask him who did the work and then find out from the mechanic what was done. Or ask for a receipt. "Rebuilt" can be a vague term.
