replacing a bed?

both fenders on my bed are starting to rust through. i've never had to do this but i'm being advised my best option for long term ownership is to replace the bed, (find a newer used one) put it on myself and have it professionly painted. any ever put a bed on themselves?

The only hard part is getting the torx bolts loose that hold it down. Other than that disconnect the tail-light wires and un-bolt the filler neck. Then 4 guys to lift it off.

I've done a few, very easy. Do as a-rod said, or if you have the equipment, a tractor or a backhoe make nice tools for lifting the bed.

thanks (easy) is what i was lookin for. i know there isn't really anything attached to it and it looks cut and dry, (take off=put on) but i wanted to ask in case i got a few, immediate, (OH you don't want to do that ) lol

I think It's easy to change a bed, make sure you get it painted first and be careful putting it back on
I have a few In my gallery when I did mine and I put a pickup bed on a F-550 cab and chassis
