I have a 1994 superduty. 7.3 wo/turbo, automatic. I have replaced all 8 glow plugs, and now when I turn key on there is no clicking from glow plugs. Before...there would be clicking sound from glow plugs, and engine would have a hard time starting. Now no clicking but new plugs. Any thoughts? Thanks
Welcome to FTE. Does the truck start better with the new glow plugs? Have you checked the glow plug relay? If you're still having starting problems that would be my guess.
You could ask the guys in the link I posted above. They could tell you for sure. The GPR (glow plug relay) looks a lot like the solenoid starter relay but it's usually mounted toward the center of the engine. It's been a long time since I've had a 94 or older truck.
I'd suggest clicking on the link in my earlier post and starting a new thread in that section. They will be able to post pictures for you and show you exactly where everything is at.
