OK, I recently replaced my head gasket (long story). I neglected taking the head in for testing. After driving a few weeks, I noticed the oil looks like Elmers wood glue on the dipstick again. I know it's getting coolant in it, but not much, as I never have to top off the radiator. In an effort to add sufficient lubrication, I have been running straight 40 weight oil until such time as I can replace the head gasket again (the right way). I've got great oil pressure (nearly 50 while driving and 40+ @ idle) and no overheating, so I feel confident driving it.
well thats not good.
oil will rise to the top and water will settle to the bottom .The oil pickup is at the bottom.you will pull the oil threw the motor then oil this is bad.
i build race engines and also race. When we blow a head gasket and cant repair the problem soon. We'll run it.BUT we will pull the drain plug drain out the water and start it.
we are still getting water in the oil but we are trying not to destroy the crank and bearings by sucking straight water at startup
