Today I am going to look at a 1993 F250 XLT diesel that is being parted out by an individual. He seems to have a lot of stuff, so if anybody is looking for a particular part I can be on the lookout.
I need a driver side seat with lumbar from a 40/20/40 bench from the OBS in red... or at least the plastic trim along the side of the seat for both sides.
The truck only has a few parts that I need. Its the wrong color for me (two tone blue and white) and the interior is worn out. The driveline is in good shape. It starts and runs, but it isnt a powerstroke. It was parked because the transmission was slipping so it would need a rebuild. The transfer case is ok as well as the axles. It's got diamond plate bed rail covers which may be a hard to find accessory for obs trucks nowadays.
I wouldn't say drivable. It has been sitting for about 8 months, and the transmission needs a rebuild. It would need new batteries, the tires are flat but may hold air just fine. Everything is intact, but not pretty.
No rust, but plenty of dents and dings. Oh, and it is a regular cab long bed 4x4.
His intention was to sell for parts, but he wants it out of the yard soon. He confessed that he doesnt feel comfortable trying to price things as he doesnt know enough about the market. I asked about a price for the whole truck, and he spit out $1800 off the top of his head. I can tell that there is plenty of room for negotiation though.
If it were me making the trip, I'd sell off what I didnt need for scrap before I headed home. The bed is dented but fixable (fine if you want a beater). The cab would be a great replacement for a rusty one.
