boost gauge vibration

My boost guage is vibrating when it goes above 20 psi under load. I thought I read somewhere that there is a dampering fitting of some sort you can buy to eliminate the problem. Anyone know a site where I can purchase such a thing ?

Been there and done that John. I am assuming you get a clicking sound in the mid to high boost range as I did. The diesel group that installed my gauge hadn't seen it before but they are specialist in cummins not ford powerstrokes and said it is a Ford thing and they do not have a fix as this is unfamilar territory for them.

It drove me crazy to not have something work or sound perfectly. I did some research and found if the boost tube from your gauge t's into the boost tube that is measured by the computer near the passenger side (can't recall actual name) you are getting feedback from the injectors.

I fixed this by installing the 05-07 powerelbow and rerouted my boost tube to measure at the nipple provided for the power elbow. This is suppose to be the most accurate way of measuring boost from what was told to me.

Anyways the clicking/vibration noise went away when I rerouted the boost gauge tie spot which appeared to validate the injector feedback from the original boost tube tie near the computer.

Hopefully this helps or solves your problem if it is the same as mine was.
Good Luck

I have an 05 and run the boost gauge from the elbow going into the intake manifold and the gauge is always accurate and smooth.

This is how 3000 FPS installed his in the post above and mine is the same way. It works perfect. You can purchase the individual fittings or a kit from dieselmanor. Just look on this page http://dieselmanor.com/gauges.asp
Hope this helps.
