My truck has the stock exhaust and muffler on it. I was wanting maybe something like 3 or 3.5. Where should I get the pipe to go from the origional size to the 3.5? Also what muffler would you recommend..
i would recommend a 4" exhaust from the down pipe back and the 3" ats downpipe with no muffler at all they sound great and not really that loud(If you have a turbo)
Someone, CheaperJeeper I think has pictures in his gallery of how he reworked his exhaust Y.
The three inch pipe started in front of where both pipes came together, and then three inch out the back.
Did a nice job on the exhaust.
Most muffler shops can bend three inch pipe.
That makes it a reasonable price to install.
3.5 and 4 inch bends have to be bought, so the price starts going up.
I had my stacks installed at a muffler shop.
Twenty feet of 3" pipe and we bent all the bends, welded the joints and a set of 3" x 4' chrome turnout stacks, total cost was 300 dollars.
One of my Cummins buddies had to have 4" stacks on his.
So we went to the local truck supply house to get pipe and elbows.
His bill was over 400 dollars for parts, no chrome stacks and no labor in that number.
