An Introduction
Found the site a few days and am plowing through every post on every page....good stuff.
I'm a die hard Jeep guy offroader...but everyone knows the best Jeeps have Ford drivetrains!!
Seriously, I found and dragged home a 79 F250 with 351m (I think), NP435, D44, D60. It's an ex plow truck and I can sell the blade and plow gear for what I paid, which leaves me with some kick butt drivetrain parts for my custom rock buggy project.
I was originally thinking only about the Tranny and axles....till I found this bbs! I LOVE this engine...it's the ultimate thinking man's stealth engine!
I've read the famous hot rod article (big thanks to the scanner) and my pulse races.....this is very cool.
Anyway - that's me and my interest...I'll be back when I have more sopecific questions.
Oh - I have one quick - suggestions for good books / manuals? I bought the POS Haynes "Ford engine overhaul book". When I read the first para and it talked about the 400c and 400m, and then said the 351m was a 400m with Windsor crank - I took it right back ! Should have seen me explain it to the returns girl, LOL!
Regards,
Bill
