400 running ruff???
i have a 1978 f-150 ranger and when i accelerate the motor seems to die down and then come up to speed. my first belief is the choke. am i on the right track or is there something else. also will a 351C or M intake manifold bolt right down to my 400. i know that there are the same class but was wondering if there are any little differences in them

The Intake from the 351M will bolt right down . but the 351C you have to use adapter plates to make it work. Price motorsports have a nice setup for this now.
As for why does your truck die first before it takes off .. I'd check the accelerator pump on your carb. if it's shot it don't give it that little pump of fuel as you stomp the gas peddle ...
