New Tires, initial thoughts

I picked up new tires yesterday, Dayton Timberline AT II's. LT 265/75/17 load range C. These had a little mote tread depth than I was looking for for my truck since it is just 2WD but the tread is closer to a highway designand a friend gave me a good deal on them. I went to the shop yesterday morning with about 1/2 - 11 inch of sleet on the ground and when I left the shop it had changed over to snow with about 2" on the ground and I proceeded to go to work, 40 miles one way. I carry abour 400# of concrete in the bed and usualy have to many problems anyway. The roads were completly covered and I have to say I was happy with these tires, the tread cleans out really well. The roads were clear on the way home and I noticed a little more road noise than before but that is expected. They are MUCH better than the Continentals!

Now for some pics.

I'd like to know how the wear is. I still have the original BFGs on my 04, but they are losing grip in the snow and want something a little more agressive since I run them solely in the winters. Maybe someone else that had used these could give us some feedback.

I can tell you, the Dayton Timberlines have gotten way more conservative looking as far as tread goes. I used to have them on an 86 F350 back in like 03 or 04 and they were comparable in looks to the BFG A/T's with a really mean looking tread pattern

these are still very nice though

they are the exact same tire as the Bridgestone Dueler, or Firestone Destination

Dayton is the "cheap" version of the name brand...still a very good tire
