Front End Noise

I have a 03 sd 350 4x4 w/ a 6.0.

Every time I turn the wheels all the way to the left or the right I hear a clicking sound. I just did ball joints at the end of last summer. The noise seemed to have started just a few days ago after I had used the 4 wheel drive due to a storm we had. I have auto locking hubs not manuel. Has anyone had this problem? Any help would be great so I can fix it.

Thanks
Attila

I may be one of your auto hubs not disengaging properly. Reengage the 4 weel drive, drive it a bit and see if it clears it up.

I tried that a few times and it didn't cure the problem. I did ball joints last year so I know that's not it.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Sounds like the auto-hubs did not release properly.

Is your heating system only blowing through your defrosters?

Turn the wheel all the way one direction and shut the truck off. then reach behind the tire and turn the u joint by hand. If it spins you know it is unlocked. Check both sides I bet one is still locked.

It could be that the u-joints themselves are screwed... Thats kind of what mine did .. I just changed them last week and the clicking is gone !!!!

Replace the u-joints.. thats my call !!! U can check them by wiggling them or prying them with a bar to see if there is any movement !!
