I just rolled into a parking Garage this morning,In a buiding next to te one I'm moving into... Went to move the truck, and its stuck in 1st, (1965 352, 3sp toploader) floor shift conversion. I now have to get the tools out of storage and beat it into shape, I mean fix it. So the clutch depressed releases, it'll roll. but the shifter will not move, What do you think the angle of attack should be?
(now which box did i put that hammer in?)
if its inside and on a solid ground...put the rear on stands with wheels off the ground thus taking the load off the driveline and see what that gets you...if you need to adjust the clutch, it would be a good time to do this...especially if having the tail in the air doesnt help the situation.
Look for two passing linkage pieces hung together. If it were still on the column I would know what to do, but unless you have cooked the tranny it should be a linkage issue.
Block the wheels crawl under and put both shift levers on the tranny in the center, nuetral position. This may require use of force. The aftermarket 3spd shifters are notorious for slop which will cause stuck in gear or two gears at once type problems. Welcome to FTE
Hey Gents, thanks for the advice, finally got out there with the only tools I could muster easily. Overlapping linkage hung it up, A simple hammer, screwdriver fix. Thanks again.
