trans whine
hey guys,
when i first got my 75 home and running i took it around the farm a few times just to see if the thing moved at all. and while i was driving it the trans make a loud whining noise, it did this in all gears. the guy i bought it from said he had it rebuild and he pulled the trans himself and brought it somewhere. and yup you can tell he did it himself.
torched holes in the side of the frame to get crossbeam out forgot to put in half the bolts back in. all the bolts to the T-case to tranny were out about half way and who ever he brought it to didnt do that great of a job rebuilding it.
n'ways i put it in the shed and pulled the dipstick and the fluid was nice and creamy white/pink and smelled funky. could the noise just be from the water in the fluid or is it somthing worse?

Yeah it could, also check the fluid in your rad. The cooler for the trans could have a leak and that is where the water/coolant is coming from. You may need a new rad but deffenitly a trans flush.
