Rebuild time

A trannny temp gauge is worth the money even if they costed $150.00 since
they can help prevent the tranny from breaking $1000.00+ I prefer a digital
one since the response is quick and you can alter your driving to let it cool down.
You should see the numbers climb while waiting in the drive thru!! Doing that little
trick where you let the motor hold you on a hill instead of the brakes makes it sky
rocket up like crazy " Don't do it!!" When you swap the tranny making sure all the
cooling lines and the cooler is super clean will prevent a repeat and is the number
one mistake most folks make. Pressure washing the cooler I mean blasting water
through the lines and then follow that with denatured alcohol and about 80 psi of
air(no flames around!!) Then at least 2 quarts of cheap fluid and catching it in a
clear bottle so you can inspect it for crap. Your rebuilding area should be clean as
possible and you should try to do it all in one day if possible since leaving it open
could allow bugs and dirt to find a home in your new tranny!!
