holley 650cfm mechanical secondaries
my freind gave me a rebuilt holley double pumper with mechanical secondaries, also the choke horn has been milled off. to put on my 400 with an edelbrock 2171 intake i dont drive the truck in winter so the no choke shoulnt be a problem but I dont understand the mechanical secondaries part will this work on my truck ok or just be a headache. my truck is basically a pro street dump and home depot hauler.

Vacuum secondaries are best on a heavier vehicle. The boo-wah of a mechanical carburator sounds cool and you can feel that initial opening of the secondaries, but chances are alot of fuel is going out the pipes (at 3.5 bucks/gal) especially with a double pumper. Single pump vacuum would be more efficient. But then again, killer price on the race type carburator.
