How can you tell a Aussie head from a standard head. Is there noticable differences in them? There is some on Ebay right now, but how do you know without numbers?
The American 2V head is an open chamber design. It kinda looks round and dome shaped, with oval shaped ports. The Assie 2V closed chamber heads only have openings around the valves and spark plug. The 2 adds I saw on ebay were both closed chamber 2v heads. Although at first glance the one that is selling 10 heads I thought were open chamber till I looked closly.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 03-Mar-02 AT 10:20 PM (EST)]the part num is also different, domestic parts start with D, ie D1AE. the aussies start with A ie A1AE, if i remember right.
No! don't buy Aussie heads!!! They are all going to the US, I won't be able to buy then cheap here anymore!!!!
Oh, one little question, I have a set of closed chamber 2v's in my garage, but one is damaged... a big hole through n exhaust port, the water jacket and through to the other side... you can see straight through if you look into the exhaust port. Is this head F@*#ed? Would it be repairable?
