Ok so i checked out Gear venders (http://www.gearvendors.com/f2wd4s.html) and $2895? Am i just looking at the wrong thing or what?

Nope, you're looking at the right thing. They ain't cheap at all. You'd be MUCH better off swapping gears IMHO, unless you have an absolute need for under/over drive... just to much $$$

i would trade my 3.55s or 3.73s for a 4.10 rearend...

Too bad you're so far away. I've got both a set of 4.10 gears and a complete 4.10 rear axle sitting in the yard. I also did the 4.10 to 3.55 swap 3 years ago. I've never been sorry. Guys were telling me not to because I wouldn't be able to pull as much. It's never been a problem. At 60 mph I'm still getting 2100 rpm. How some guys are getting 1700 rpm I don't know, but I'd like too. Mine's only 2wd so it was a little easier and cheaper too.
