I have used both Gearvendor and US Gear. I had a GV in my 97 F350 with an E4OD. my current ride is an F550 with a 6 sp. I use a US gear OD in it. Yes I tow, about 15,000 lbs. gear ratio in the 1 ton was 4:10 the 550 runs 4:88s. You will see an effective RPM drop of 500-700. Cost of the units is very similar, the designs are compleately different. the GV is a little automatic tranny, the US G is a little manual.
the us gear is a tuogher unit, its rated higher GVW, it can be used with an exhaust brake (GV specificly says this is a nono). install on a 2wd is very similar on a 4wd is different. IMHO I would choose the US Gear, its bulletproof. Barney
Just got a US Gear a few weeks ago and love it. Mileage went up about 2-3 mpg. Fixing to tow the trailer this weekend from California to Texas so I will let you know how much better the mileage is when I am finished. I have 4.10's in my dually 60 was 2k rpms and now I am almost at 75 before I hit 2k rpms.
I just talked to someone today that had one, don't remember which brand. He said it worked fine, but once you get past 450rwhp, expect it to start breaking.
