i have a 79 supercab, and as you know the half ton sc comes with leaf springs in the front. I bought a set of 3 inch lift blocks, but a guy told me that its not a good idea to use the blocks on the front because they would cause my front drive shaft to break when i use 4wd. He also told me that i was taking a chance on them coming out when stopping. Anyone used them and is there any truth to those comments? thanks
DO NOT USE BLOCKS IN THE FRONT OF YOUR TRUCK!!!! What would happen if you were to hit a big bump? Your blocks will spit out is what. Do not do it. Buy some lift springs, have your springs re-arched, anything except lift blocks in the front of your truck. Yes big rigs have lift blocks, but they are engineered that way, and are prone to not ever fail. Just becasue it works at the mud pit, or on a big rig does not mean that it will work for you, or that its safe.
I have a 78 Supercab. Getting ready to drop a 460 into it, after trashing my third 351M. If you have any luck lifting it, please let me know. I have looked around for suspension kits for these old SC's, but can't seem to find anything. Thanks.

Don't beat around the bush MB. Go ahead and say what's on your mind... No really! Don't *****foot here. Tell us what you really think...
I know, I know. I've seen guys try it, usually with disasterous results. Don't blame you for trying to stress the point. Just had to make fun.
i had 2" blocks all the way around on a 78 f250 i had they worked fine and i am hard on trucks. i had over size u bolts made up at a local spring shop and made sure they were installed "right". no problems but that is just my experience.

78/9 F-250 lift kits will work. Also 99-04 superduty front springs will work
I'm not condoning the use of front lift blocks, but these have been on my pickup for almost 250K miles of hard driving, towing, hauling, and a few trails. Never spit one out, never came loose.
