seat question

I was wondering if a bench seat from a 97-03 F-150 would work in my '85? Junkyards never have any good 80-96 seats but lots of good 97-03 seats. If so any mods?

I'm not sure if they are a direct bolt in. But if I needed a seat a drill & bolts & nuts would make it fit.

The mounting brackets are very different between the two. Best course of action would be to see if it's possible to use your current brackets on the new seat before you buy it. I looked into this about 4 years ago, and to be honest I forget the exact reason why, but I do remember it was too problematic.
