So on my way home from work I noticed that I had a grinding noise coming from what seemed to be my front end, it was especially noticeable in cornering. After I got home I went to go over to the neighbors to grab dinner with them and it felt like I had hit something backing up. Now the grinding got really bad so I jacked up the truck and found that the drivers wheel had about 1/2-3/4 in of play when I pushed in at the top of the tire. I have removed the auto locker (which was dry as a bone) and then took out the unit bearing.
Should there be grease leaking out of the back of the unit bearing?
Should the hub normally be stiff or turn freely?
Does it sound like I got it right?
Well anyways its only 200 and some change a side to replace so I am gonna do em both as well as i got my tailgate trim, the seatbelt I need, the hunk of wiring for my fog lights with the factory connector as well as the parts to fix my headlight switch for about 30 bucks so I actually made out ok today.
