Windshield gasket
Hi,
I just went through a terrible wind / sand / rock storm yesterday which destroyed my windshield. I had a local shop put a new one in today and I requested they install the Ford factory one. They did and it came with a new gasket. I got it home and noticed something looked wierd. On the outside of the glass where the rubber meets the glass, it does not taper down to the glass, instead it has a groove in it as if another piece of glass could go in it (but much thinner). It looks funny as if it were squared around the edges instead of tapered and smooth. I contacted the shop and they said it is what came with it and it probably is what they are using now. To me it looks strange and serves no practical purpose so my question is has anyone else seen this? This is a 2000 SD CC. Thanks
