bad leak
alrighty
i drove my truck home last night and then this morning i didnt driv eit to school
and when i got home from school i noticed a big black puddle underneath the gas tank and back to the rear yoke. it started about 3/4 of the way towards the end
so the first thing i do is put all my stuff down in the driveway and get a big finger full and smell it... smells like gas back is black
my gas was completeley empty now..
im not sure what could have caused such a sudden leak?.
it had a slow dripp for awhile but now this>?
im not ssure what it is im guessing a whole in the bottom of the tank and i blew a seal in my yoke.? because it had a black coting all the way to the differential cover
anybody have any ideas on how this could have happened so fast?

Or washed all the undercoating off. Asphalt in the driveway floats to the top when soaked in gas.
The tanks like to rot out under the support straps. Perhaps you hit a bump or something and it finally gave up.
I replaced my rear tank last fall for this reason
