WOW.. Has anyone with lifts noticed how bad our trucks are in wind gusts.. We've been getting 30-45mph gusts here in the Hill Country.. It's just been beating me all over the highway today.. Few close calls with other cars =\
Don't have a lift but trucks are like a rolling sail. You can always feel the wind. In my 1967 vw bug I was pushed completely into the middle of the next lane going across the Golden Gate Bridge. Now that was scary. I was lucky there was nobody there.
A deeper air dam on the front will help some, creating a low pressure area under the truck. (Maybe an '08 Job 2 dam could be retrofit?)
Otherwise, check your alignment. If the caster is off a little towards the negative side it'll feel like the truck has no "steering center", especially in the breeze.
Yep, same here especially today with the front rolling through. Going down the tollway at 90 degree angle to the gusts, I had to keep the wheel into the wind. Normally it's a pretty easy, light hands drive. Today it was pushing me all over. Drove later in the Expedition and it was worse. Less weight I guess.

I just lifted my truck 6" about a month ago. Last night we were coming home from the lake and the wind blew my mind. Crossing the bridge it was more of a white knuckle ride than its ever been.
I definitely agree with Storm.
you guys need to come up to ND. 30-45 mph winds are almost a weekly thing! With a stock height SD I realy don't have any more problem than with either of my cars!
Go to East Glacier Park,MT winds in the 100's are a normal. MY dad had me along when he had a 8ft long by 6ft high peice of postal equipment "post office boxs".
He also had racks on the pickup to tie it down to. The racks were used to carry a cord of wood. The wind had to be in the 70's or 80's mph range. It was not fun for him as it was midnight and raining. It was a long night for both of us. In East Glacier the wind has overturned grain cars on a regular interval. Just have to drive carefully.
I don't have a lift but I still get pushed around a fair deal in the wind. We get some real strong winds where I live. I think when you look at our trucks from a side profile, it's pretty easy to see why they get blown around... big old broad, flat sides.
I have noticed that here in VA, we have had some extremely windy days this past year. My truck isn't lifted, but the wind gusts of have me all over the road. It does make my job of finding DUI's a lot easier though hahahaha
