Computer test port question?

do the '88s (mine is the 5.8 EB edition) have the OBD2 test ports, or is she a little old for that?

obdII came out in 96, late 95 for most models. I think you can jump two prongs together to read the troule codes using a paper clip or short piece of wire, but I don't remember which prongs.

You can find the paper clip method by searching, but I guess I'm too ADD for that. The scanner will pull all three code types plus cycle all the actuators. I keep mine in the glove box.

hay guy i have a question on my 95 bronco. how do i read the codes in the instruction manual it says that sum years are 3 or 2 digit code or is it sumthing else.

My 94 codes are three digit EEC-IV system.

It changed to obdII on some model in 95 and 96 so an obdII code reader might be needed if yours has it.

If it's OBDII then the diagnostic port is under the dash. If it's OBDI then the diagnostic port is under the hood by the drivers fender near the relays.
