I recall reading somewhere about someone filling the oil filter up when they changed oil. If I understand how the 6.0 is set up, there is a drain valve that will open when the filter is removed to allow the oil in the housing to drain back to the oil pan during oil changes.
Now I've only done a couple of oil changes so far because the dealer sends me coupons for oil changes for $60, but I'm going over to synthetic and will be doing my own from here on out. I want to make sure I'm not dropping the ball on something simple when I do it.
I've lubed and installed the O ring, installed the filter into the cap and torqued the cap when doing oil changes. Is there a way to fill the filter housing up that I missed? Do you install the filter in the housing and fill it first, then put the cap on? Or could it be that the other post was talking about a 7.3 and I missed that?
