Transmission question
I have a 2000 f-150 4.6 what year models does my truck share the same auto transmission. I recently broke mine ( due to a combo of old 116000 miles and a little trip off the highway and down an little hill with a trailer) I now have what shows up at the dealership as a 3/4 shift error on my transmission. Im not sure what is wrong with it but there was clutch material on the bottom of my pan when it was opened up so it is possible that it is just worn out ... I wont be towing anything with this truck again but for the best cost effective repair should I go with a junk yard transmission or try to get my current one rebuilt. Im a little worried about a junk yard transmission because I dont wana save money not by buying one but end up getting a new one in 6 months because that one wore out.

If you go to www.car-part.com it will show you junk yards with available transmissions and the different models that share that trans.
