Need HELP!! 86 ranger
Generally, two adjacent cylinders with low compression point to head gasket failure. Pans leak because the gasket has failed or the bolts are loose or the pan has rusted through. Examine yours for the cause.
Are you sure that the tank has room for more than 3 or 4 gallons of gas? Have you ever drained it or have you run out of gas to know that the gauge shows empty when it should...? If it is really empty, then you may have a blocked vent tube. Check the tubes that are under the bed leading to/from the gas tank. The smaller one is the vent and if blocked would cause slow filling as the air would have to escape to allow more fuel to be added.
Hope this helps.
