Yes you can do it. The filter on the frame rail will drain for about 20 seconds or so. Just get a old coffee can and drain into the can. You will get about 2 inches in the bottom of the can. Have fun its a little messy!

Yes. Last time i did mine i jacked the driver side front end up and pulled the drain plug. It drained for 15 sec then stopped. After that, a tiny little amount of fuel came out when the filter was pulled
