"bearing in oil pan"

Even though it still runs good after 105,000 miles with no knocking I decided to timing chain and oil pump. After dropping the pan I find what looks like a partial bearing in two pieces. It's very thin and flexible like tin and it's 5/8 inch wide. Both pieces together would not make a full bearing The end of the longer piece has a 1/8 inch semi-circle cut into it from the manufactorer. This is why I think it may be a cam bearing. Like I said earlier the engine was not knocking. I don't know what the oil pressure was because I just have an idiot light. If it's a cam bearing would it cause some of my lifers to tic real bad? I'm thinking of putting it back together to see what happens that bearing may have been in there for years !! Any Thoughts Jeff.

The description you provided doesn't sound like a bearing it sounds more like some sort of shim or the remains of a seal. If you were missing a cam bearing you'd know about it since the oil pressure would probably be next to nothing at best. Sorry I can't be more help but I just can't tell what the mystery part is without seeing a picture of it.
