Thanks Jason.I am on the other computer reading the ICP tests right now.I can't seem to access the wiring diagram in the cd manual though. Thanks again for your help.
The ICP connector is 3 pins, A, B, C. Looking at the connector the 2 pins in the same orientation are A and B, C is oriented 90 degrees to the other 2. Pin A is pin 25 on the PCM engine harness connector, pin B is pin 36 and pin C is pin 29.
I am looking for the current path for pin 29 on the other side of the PCM.I have it traced it to a ten pin connector. Does anyone know the location of that connector?X I owe you a beer or two.lol
Just so I'm sure of what you're doing, because you're pinpoint tests seem to be a little different than the one's I'm looking at, are you checking the voltage on pin C with the ignition on?
Did you check the resistance between pin 29 and pin C with the PCM connector diconnected?
The 0.003 and 0.2 you referred to, are those resistance values or voltage values?
Yes. the wire from the ICP to the PCM is good,no resistance. It isn't getting signal on PCM side. The connector I am after has Map,Maf & Iap it looks like a couple of grounds and a bunch of other stuff on the connector.
Do your diagrams give connector numbers? On mine I think the connector you're looking for is C1444. Which according to my manual is a 16 pin connector located in the left hand rear of the engine compartment underneath the auxiliary relays. the should be a bundle of 5 connectors there, C1444 should be the middle one. If you follow the wire for the air filter minder you sould be able to find the 5 connectors.
Just for reference it should have the following wires on it:
Little bit of extra info, looks like the VREF from the PCM (wire 351) comes from a least 2 pins on the PCM pins 36 and 45. If you're not getting any signal voltage I think you're going to need another drink because the PCM is likely a boat anchor.....
BINGO.X all I want is this sorted.I took time off work for the first time in 4 yrs to learn all I can on this motor.Man am I getting a lesson.PS The wife it seems for some reason still appears to love me...though I haven't seen her in a couple weeks.lol
I hope I have the problem narrowed down(thanks to a little help from my friends)to the ten pin connector that has 3 logic 2 voltage 2 ground. It comes out of the PCM but where does it go.#37 -29- 20- 25- Any Idea where these go into the harness.
