Heh yeah that is funny hey. Do you remember when the pentium first came out? I wasnt into computers then, but my neighbours got one of the first pentiums when they first came out, and I think they paid around 2500 bucks for the whole system!
I got one! Those first pentiums had a bug, so when you were playing a game the whole computer would freeze for like a second and it would continue on. Here's my processor collection: The Pentium 60 is the gold one
Well this "geek" made good money fixing computers around my home town.
I think I still got a Pentium 233 kicking around the farm and wouldn't have minded to have gotten my brothers AMD K6-II processor but I think it got pitched. BTW all these processors still work except for the 2.6 ghz Celeron.

Did you cash in on the Y2K Scam... I sure as heck did, spent most of it, as fast as I made it... Looking at your display, I miss some of those old chips. the crazy sh** I did with computers back then.... Here is one cool OVERCLOCK I did up for Koolance @ Comdex 1998 in LA.
I sort of got out of it as it became too much useless spyware stuff rather than conflicting hardware or software errors. I still got my "repair" cd case with every version of Windows, 95, 98, 98 SE, ME, 2000 and XP. I do have dos 6.22 and Win 3.1 on floppy.
On thing I learned when doing odd jobs it's best to pick odd numbers for payment. So like $15 and $25 so more often or not you get $20/30.

I have a copy of Xerox Windows version 4 (circa 1977), and a copy of Windows 1.1a & Dos 0.1a, and all versions of dos upto PCDOS 7, and MSDOS 6.22, and Windows up to Vista..

I have a couple of elderly clients still, and I tell them "give me what ever you think is fair" most often it works out to about $30 p/hr
I never did charge anything for fixing computers. I got out of it because there just wasnt enough money in it for me. Plus I liked working physically hard.
