Dizzy Cap Corosion

So I have been driving the old rig more lately since it gets about the same mileage as any of our newer rigs and I wanted to get it running a bit better. Still the best truck from a running stand point I have ever owned. Anyway, the dizzy cap post always are coroded regardless of the miles on it. This has been an issue since my dad brought this thing home new in 1984. The caps are a brass post not aluminum which I know are easily coreded. It runs the Dur II Ignitial setup and has about 228k on it now. Any thoughts from the pros?

Thank you,

Kraig

I get alot of corrosion from aluminum posts, but it's easy and cheap to just replace the cap.

It will tend to miss when the corosion builds up then runs very nice after you file it off or replace the cap. If it's normal for a Ford then maybe it's okay then. Probably why my Dad never bothered to try to fix it.

Thanks for the input!
